Eric Nguyen

Eric Nguyen is a dedicated and passionate math teacher with a career that spans over 20 years. Eric holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in Mathematics from UC Riverside, he also holds a Mathematics Certificate with IB Mathematics SL. Over the years, he has taught many math courses, including Pre-Algebra, AP Calculus AB, and IB Math SL. He has held various leadership roles such as Head of the Middle/High School Math Department, Middle/High School Director, and Math Competitions Coordinator.

Born in Vietnam and raised in San Jose, California, Eric developed a strong love for education and math from an early age. His passion for teaching is shared by his sister, who is also an educator and has been a lifelong source of inspiration for him. Together, they have always been committed to guiding young minds and making a difference in the lives of students.

Eric’s professional philosophy is simple yet powerful: “Lead with positivity.” He believes in creating a learning environment that is engaging, uplifting, and full of humor, which helps foster a love for math among his students. His teaching style emphasizes making learning fun and ensuring that students see the best in everything they do.

Outside of the classroom, Eric enjoys staying active and prioritizing his health. On weekends, he can often be found playing volleyball, gardening, and running—activities that keep him energized and grounded. His commitment to living a healthy lifestyle serves as a model for his students to balance work and well-being.
