Priya Niezgoda Dominates USTA National Open

Priya Wins the USTA National Open

Priya Niezgoda, an incoming freshman at AESA Prep Academy and an athlete at Advantage Doyle at Polo club, dominated the USTA National Open, July 2-4 in North Little Rock, AR. Priya won the Singles and placed 2nd in Doubles with her partner Tamijean Fumagalli. In her singles, Priya only lost 1 set the entire event while winning 5 matches.

Priya is currently ranked 44 in the Nation. Way to go Priya for bringing in the gold and silver at the National Open!!

AESA Tennis Players Rock the Grand Slam Tournament

AESA Prep Academy Tennis Players attended the Capsher Texas Grand Slam tournament this past week and really made us proud.

Here are some of the results from the biggest tourney of the year:

  • A big Congrats to Harrison Adams for winning the boys 18 singles and doubles.
  • Connor Omeara reached the quarters of the back draw singles and main draw of doubles with Henry Adams.
  • Henry won 4 matches in the back draw.
  • Leighton Allen won 3 singles matches in the boys 12 singles.
  • Sara Adams reaches the Quarter finals of singles and doubles with Adi Ford.
  • Priya Niezgoda beat two top players in the state reaching round of 16 in singles and quarters of doubles.
  • Adi Ford reached the quarters of the back draw in singles.
  • Jayci Goldsmith beat the #9 seed winning 3 matches in the girls 12 singles.
  • Syd Young beat two seeded teams in the girls 18 doubles reaching the semi finals.
  • Ashley Ford reached the quarter finals of the girls 16 doubles.
  • Maggie Omeara reached the round of 16 in the girls 16 doubles.

Kali recently won in the finals (girls 14 qualified) at the 1st annual Andy Roddick Foundation tournament at Fair Oaks Ranch Country Club!  Congrats Kali!

AESA Alumni Michael and Adrian Garza Win Heartland Conference Title with St. Edward's Tennis Team

Michael and Adrian Garza on the St. Edward's Tennis Team at the 2012 Heartland Conference

AESA Prep Academy Alumni Michael and Adrian Garza helped the St. Edward's Tennis team win the Heartland Conference title this year.  They will now go on to play the NCAA Division 2 tournament with the top 64 teams.  From there, the top "sweet 16" teams will play in Louisville, Kentucky.
